Shamans Grave Purification Ritual

Periodically purification rituals should be performed to reconnect with Mother (earth) and center oneself for spiritual renewal. To be performed at optimal moon phases and energy shifts the placement of a Shaman’s Grave is important for enhanced effectiveness.

The grounds would be blessed with sage and prayer, prayer poles activated with ritual red flags, prayer feathers, written prayer notes, etc. The graves are dug in ritual manner by participants and lined with yew or pine or any of the appropriate sacred plants.

Participants prepare themselves with fasting, mediation, cleansing, saging, silence introspection, intent, and willful, humble submission.

The unclothed participant is covered with earth and left for as long as possible generally several or more hours to over night. The thoughts and notions are closely observed for lessons and insight from the guardians participating with you on the other side, as are animal and nature occurrences as you accept renewal and purification resting in Mothers arms.

One may wiggle themselves free if not buried too deeply and all refresh with water and light pure food and drink and dance with merriment. Sharing around a fire may continue into the night…
